Private equity operating teams and their portfolios

The portfolio decision is a people decision.

Claude Readiness: in fourteen days, one person at the fund or in a portfolio company finishes one piece of real work with Claude, to a standard you would put your name to. The Intelligence Platform keeps them current every week after that.

For operating partners, value-creation teams and the management teams they back. Most funds have already decided that AI matters to the portfolio. What is missing is the same thing everywhere: evidence that a named person in a named company can actually do the work, rather than that they attended a session about it. Every organisation from the sole trader to the global firm buys the same thing at the same price.

What you finish in fourteen days

Claude Readiness is a six-lesson track worked through on real tasks, not exercises. It ends with something built and a credential graded on our servers, with a public verification page. Roll it across a portfolio company and the board pack can say who is capable, by name, with a link. The same subscription carries the other three tracks for when a company wants to go further: Setup and Onboarding, Cowork, and Agentic Engineering for its developers.

One scenario from the Scenario Lab

The Platform holds a private equity pack of tested scenarios, each a step-by-step test you run on your own material. This is the one deal teams usually run first.

Scenario · Claude Cowork · sixty minutes

Inbound deal screening: CIM to verdict in thirty minutes

The problem. Each information memorandum takes an associate half a day to screen, so the funnel is capped by headcount and good deals get slow responses.

The outcome you test for. A structured screening memo per CIM in minutes: thesis fit, red flags, questions for management, and a pass or proceed recommendation.

  1. Write your fund's screening criteria as one page: sector, size, margin profile, deal type, hard exclusions.
  2. Place a real or sample CIM in a local folder beside the criteria and ask Claude Cowork for your standard memo.
  3. Have the deal lead review the memo against their own read and mark errors or missed signals.
  4. Check five specific numbers in the memo against the CIM's source pages.
  5. Run a second CIM that clearly fails your criteria and confirm the memo says pass, for the right reasons.

The scenario measures time per screen, extraction accuracy and deal-lead agreement. It does not promise a number, and neither do we.
